ABOUT “(phrae)”
Phrae Province is located in the northern region of Thailand, approximately 155 meters above sea level. It is about 551 kilometers from Bangkok by car and 473 kilometers by train (to Den Chai railway station). The province has an area of approximately 6,538.59 square kilometers and borders the provinces of Phayao, Lampang, Nan, Uttaradit, and Sukhothai (Reference: page 3).
The development of Phrae Smart City has a vision to be a “Beautiful Phrae, a smart city with a creative economy, abundant natural resources, and sustainable living.” It covers the entire province with a population of 311,082 people. The development focuses on enhancing the quality of life and digital infrastructure to promote equitable public access to and utilization of information technology, in line with the 7 development dimensions (Reference: page 6). Currently, Phrae is still in the process of defining its smart city development plan (Reference: page 17).

Good Governance: It operates on the principles of good governance, aiming for organizational excellence. Digital technology is integrated into its management to ensure transparency and speed.
Quality of Life Development: The focus is on developing education, public health, and the environment to provide citizens with a good quality of life and safety for their lives and property.
Becoming a Smart City: There is a strong commitment to developing into a Smart City across seven domains: Smart Environment, Smart Energy, Smart Economy, Smart Governance, Smart Mobility, Smart People, and Smart Living, by applying digital technology and innovation to city management and problem-solving.
