ABOUT “(City Name)”
Bang Saray is a sub-district established in 1980. It was originally a village under the jurisdiction of Na Chom Thian Sub-district. As the village expanded, Mr. Prasom Sri Sam-ang at that time requested to separate Bang Saray Village from Na Chom Thian Sub-district and named it “Bang Saray Sub-district.” Mr. Yai In-anong was the first headman of Bang Saray Sub-district. History of Bang Saray: Originally, it was called Samre. In the past, there were no villages. Pirates, or as the locals called them, “Salad Nam” would use this area to ambush passing ships. When they robbed them, they would bring their ships to the Samre shore, kill people, seize property, and burn the ships. Sometimes, after robbing property, they would abandon the people. Those released later settled in Samre. At one time, Phraya Chanthaburi originally lived on Koh Samet, Ban Phe Subdistrict, Rayong Province, with a wife, children, and numerous followers. After Phraya Chanthaburi died, his followers, including Nai Rueang and Nai Chan, took their children, wives, and followers from Koh Samet, arriving by boat in five or six boats. They arrived at Bang Samre Bay. Seeing the location as a prime location due to its coastal land and abundant resources, most notably the abundance of southern rubber trees, sufficient to tap for latex, they settled there. Since then, the population of Bang Samre has steadily increased, and with the increasing number of immigrants moving in, the government has transferred Bang Samre to the jurisdiction of Na Chom Thian Subdistrict.
