CITY CONTEXT & NEEDS
Rawai stands out as a key coastal tourist destination in southern Phuket, known for its beautiful natural resources—like Promthep Cape, Rawai Beach, Nai Harn Beach, and 10 islands—as well as its distinctive sea gypsy culture and fresh seafood. These attractions draw both Thai and international tourists.
However, rapid real estate development and rising tourist numbers have led to pressing challenges in environmental management, waste disposal, public safety, and traffic congestion.
