ABOUT “(Pathum Thani)”

Pathum Thani province was originally named “Mueang Sam Khok,” an ancient Mon community. Later, it was granted a new name by King Rama II as “Mueang Prathum Thani” in 1815 BE (Buddhist Era 2358). Its spelling was subsequently changed and its status elevated to “Pathum Thani Province” during the reign of King Rama VI.
