ABOUT “(San Na Meng)”
San Na Meng Subdistrict Municipality in San Sai District, Chiang Mai Province, was first established as the San Na Meng Subdistrict Administrative Organization on March 30, 1996. It was later upgraded to San Na Meng Subdistrict Municipality on July 15, 2008, with the change taking effect from July 18, 2008, onwards.
The municipality covers an area of approximately 8.9 square kilometers, or 5,690 rai, and consists of 12 villages. It has a total population of 13,042 people (data as of September 2021), with an average density of 1,465 people per square kilometer.

On Being a Livable and Safe City:
Development towards a Smart City: San Na Meng Subdistrict Municipality is committed to becoming “San Na Meng Smart City,” reflecting its intention to use technology and innovation to develop a clean, convenient, safe, and transparent city, ready to serve its citizens effectively.
Robust Security Systems: CCTV cameras have been installed in various high-risk areas, and a Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, including a 24/7 emergency rescue unit, has been established to safeguard the lives and property of the public, making the city more livable and attractive for investment.
Crime and Drug Problem Management: There is collaboration with community leaders and citizens to monitor and solve drug-related problems, including organizing activities to encourage people to stay away from drugs.
On Sustainable Environmental Management:
The “Khon Ao Than” Project: An innovative project for managing branch and twig waste through smokeless incineration to reduce air pollution and generate income from waste debris. This is a source of community pride for managing the problem sustainably and in an environmentally friendly way.
Promotion of a Smart Environment: Aims to reduce open burning rates, implement an air quality and disaster warning system, as well as reduce waste volume and create low-carbon city innovations.
On Modern Public Administration (Smart Governance):
Services via Line OA: The municipality uses the Line OA system to provide public services, reducing procedural steps and saving time and money. This allows citizens to access various services conveniently and quickly, such as reporting public lighting issues, filing complaints, following news, and contacting officials.
Upgrading Public Administration: Focuses on using digital technology to increase the efficiency of government operations to be accurate, precise, fast, and responsive to the needs of the people, with a citizen-centric approach.
On Development and Investment:
Location Conducive to Growth: San Na Meng Subdistrict is located in San Sai District, the second-largest district in Chiang Mai Province. The urban expansion of Maejo has given it potential for economic growth and investment.
Ready Infrastructure: There is continuous planning and investment in both digital and physical infrastructure, such as community internet projects, CCTV installation projects, and improvements to roads, electricity, and water supply systems to support urban expansion and residential living.
