ABOUT Wangchan Valley
The Eastern Economic Corridor Innovation Project, also known as the Wang Chan Valley Project, covers an area of 3,454 rai in the Pa Yup Nai Sub-district of Wang Chan District, Rayong Province. This project is the result of a partnership between PTT Public Company Limited and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. Its main goal is to develop an innovative ecosystem that is at the forefront of Southeast Asia, driving the growth of Thai entrepreneurs and transforming them into future businesses and new target industries (New S-Curve). By harnessing the power of innovation, knowledge, and technology, this project aims to enhance people’s quality of life in line with PTT’s vision of Powering Life with Future Energy and Beyond.
VISION
The smart city serves as a foundation for supporting innovation, research, and development, while also promoting international standards for quality of life and environmental sustainability in Thailand’s urban areas.
GOALS
The city has been developed to become an innovative research hub in the form of a Smart Natural Innovation Platform. It boasts an excellent innovation ecosystem (Smart Innovation Eco System), complete with various facilities that support work and living while responding appropriately to the needs of its users.
CONTEXT
The aim is to enhance the research, development, and innovation capabilities across all sectors of the country, thereby supporting economic growth.
