DEPA Launches Smart City Leadership Program #3 – SCL#3 with a mission to encourage “Smart City Leaders” through knowledge promotion.

The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), in collaboration with the Digital Platform and Service Promotion Division, along with the Smart City Promotion Department, has successfully organized “The Smart City Leadership Program #3 – SCL#3.” This program brought together over 42 senior executives from both government and private agencies across 21 provinces in the country. Among the participants were deputy governors, mayors, chief executive officers of private companies, and more.

The primary objective of this program was to elevate participants’ knowledge, broaden their vision, and enhance their experience in the application of digital technology and innovation, aligning with Thailand’s specific needs. Additionally, the course provided valuable insights into the promotion of livable smart cities (Smart City) and the development of a city data platform (City Data Platform) tailored to the needs of senior executives in both government and private sectors.

The course includes informative lectures aimed at imparting comprehensive knowledge relevant to the development of smart cities. Participants are actively engaged in workshops to apply the acquired knowledge to address urban challenges. Additionally, the program features field trips to learn from knowledge sources that have successfully leveraged technology and information to advance smart city initiatives. Furthermore, the program enhances knowledge through educational field trips, providing participants with real-world experiences. These experiences are made possible through collaboration with various agencies dedicated to smart city promotion, including:SWOC Intelligent Water Operations Center, Royal Irrigation Department

– Creative Economy Promotion Agency (Public Organization)

– Office of the Eastern Special Development Zone Policy Committee (ESEC)

– CSIC Center for 5G Innovation and Solutions at G-Tower

Additionally, the SCL curriculum includes numerous other locations for study tours.


Furthermore, workshops have been incorporated to facilitate learning and foster strong relationships among the training participants. This approach has garnered significant attention from past participants, emphasizing the program’s commitment to skill and knowledge enhancement and the development of profound understanding through practical experiences. The curriculum also includes field visits aimed at replicating learning models from successful organizations within the country.
